A New Day has come... or Life after Las Vegas.

2007 is the fifth and the final year for Celine Dion's Las Vegas show. The show ends on December 15, 2007. A New Day, created by Franco Dragon has been a sold out smashing hit from day 1.

A New Day... has been an important milestone in Celine's career. First, not every entertainer would be able to fill a 4,000 seater five nights a week five years in a row. Celine did it. By doing so, she joined the ranks of Elvis who did it at hisown time. For Celine, a French Canadian singer who at some point didn't speak a word of English, a success like this in Las Vegas certifies her worldwide status. A New Day is an ambitious project. The big question was if the fans would come to Las Vegas to see their fav singer. It turned out we did. Also, some objective economic conditions helped Celine to pull it off. After 9/11 more Americans chose to travel domestically. Las Vegas was able to draw more visitors. Apparently, they say that Celine's success inspired Michael Jackson! who is rumored to replace Celine at the Caesar's Palace in 2008.

What was also interesting, Celine Dion, another type of a show girl, made Las Vegas a center of family entertainment. Celine, who is now an American household item, was able to appeal to families to come and spend their time in Las Vegas. It was certainly a smart marketing move which paid off.

A New Day will remain one of Celine's major career achievements, like the Titanic song. It will also be a benchmark for measuring other artists' commercial success.

Contracts fulfilled, but what is Celine going to do after Las Vegas? Lots of things she wasn't able to do while performing five nights a week!

Actually, it feels like Rene Angelil, Celine's husband and manager planned it well in advance. For a smooth transition between Vegas and post-Vegas, Celine who until now neglected her international fans who (like myself) were unable to go and see her in Las Vegas will produce two new albums this year. A new French album supervised by JJ Goldman will be released in May, while a new English album is scheduled for release in October. Two albums for two important market segments - French speaking and the rest of the world. It is a comeback in way. Celine Dion wants to be back in music charts and national hit parades. They say that in 2008 a world tour is a clear possibility too. So if you missed Celine all this time while she was entertaining Las Vegas, she might be coming to your country with a tour. That's what concerns Celine's career.

Celine is dreaming about having a second child. She is surely going to go for it after the show is over. Before Rene's cancer treatment, he made necessary arrangements for it to happen. For that matter Celine and Rene are building a new home in Florida. After their five year residence in Las Vegas it's going to be Florida again.

What else is she going to do after she is done? She said in one of her French interviews that she would love to take time and travel the world, seeing things, relax and take it easy.

It looks like there's plenty of life for Celine after Las Vegas. As the final countdown for A New Day has started, she is full of hope and new plans for life after Las Vegas. Let's wait and see.
