Love and Hate: What a Wonderful Combination.
About People Loving Celine to Death and People Hating Her Guts.

We all have opinions about things and people. We make judgments, even though we rarely admit it. We love and we hate. We like/dislike our neighbors, our colleagues, roommates, etc. And of course we all have an opinion about a celebrity. Why? Well, because we are people, I guess and this is a part of human nature.

Since we all have our opinions about famous people, let's find out what we think about Celine Dion. She is a celebrity. She just got herself a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. I got interested to know what people like / hate about Celine Dion. This is what I was able to find on the Net.

TOP DISLIKES

Celine Dion Hate Club is the ultimate authority on the "dislikes" (yeap, it exists, and I suppose is a healthy thing for the sake of the balance so that life would seem like a piece of cake :-). According to the hate club, they hate Celine Dion's:

• fans
  Haters think Celine's fans are obnoxious people.
• music
  Too much screaming.
• voice
  Too high.
• physique
  Dion is too thin.

What I like about this list is that it is very precise. The haters don't simply state they don't like Celine - period. They are very constructive. They specifically point out what they don't like. Nice.

TOP LIKES

This category has an unlimited number of bullet points. People adore Celine's:

• voice
  Very powerful, and make you shiver when Celine hits high notes.
• music
  Meaningful.
• personality
  To millions of her fans Celine is a trustworthy person, even though she is a celeb. How can that be, haters might think?
• physique
  To many she looks gorgeous. Trust me, she is gorgeous. I can say that I saw and spoke to Celine from a distance of 1 meter and can confirm she is very well-taken care of, and smells wonderful!)
• financial wealth
  The wealth of Celine is a subject of adoration for a lot of fundraising directors of a lot of charities. They love Celine's millions. Never mind that some of them don't even know how to spell Dion's first name correctly. I know what I am talking about here. Guys, it's not Celion!
• life story
  Well, let's face it - the story of Celine is a story of Cinderella. People like tales. Maybe one day Disney or Hollywood will make a movie out of it.

I'll stop here, again for the sake of the balance of "likes" and "dislikes". What is the bottom line of all this?

Well, as you have noticed - the same bullet points appeared in both categories meaning that these are very subjective judgments and cannot be taken seriously. No one for example said that Dion is unprofessional, which would be a serious thing.

What strikes me though is that some haters are so committed to hate Dion that they go all the way to create web sites, invade mailing lists, etc to say what they have to say. Doesn't it smell like a fan stuff to you? What I am saying is that some haters simply have no guts to say that they love-hate Celine Dion :-)
